Rural Heating Oil Exempt from Carbon Tax: Win for Affordability

Ottawa – Trudeau has announced that home heating oil will be exempt from the Carbon Tax for the next three years.

Dan McTeague, President of Canadians for Affordable Energy reacted to Trudeau’s announcement saying, “This is a win for affordability for rural Canadians. We have been sounding the alarm against Trudeau’s Net Zero Carbon Tax for years and how much it hurts Canadians, especially those already struggling to make ends meet.”

“This is a step in the right direction, but Trudeau should do the right thing and scrap both carbon taxes, including the Clean Fuel Regulations burdening Canadians and premised on a damaging Net Zero experiment that is corroding affordability and Canada’s economic well-being.”
