Stop the EV Handouts!
Canadians are hurting.
Groceries, rent, gas, everything costs more. Families are being squeezed harder every month. And while you’re cutting back to make ends meet, governments across Canada are lighting your tax dollars on fire.
Billions – yes, billions – are being dumped into electric vehicle (EV) subsidies. All for a product most Canadians don’t want, can’t afford, and aren’t asking for.
From 2019 to 2025, the federal Liberals have thrown $2.6 billion at EV purchase subsidies.
Quebec handed out $1.41 billion in EV manufacturing deals.
Ontario spent $471.8 million.
British Columbia gave away $576.3 million.
That’s your money. Gone.
Meanwhile, EV interest in Canada is falling for the third year in a row, even though prices are dropping. A survey from AutoTrader confirms it: Canadians are walking away from EVs. They’re not practical. They’re not ready. And no amount of government cash can change that.
Even Prime Minister Carney hit pause on the Liberal EV mandate. He knows this isn’t working.
And it gets worse.
These subsidies aren’t just wasteful – they’re blowing up in our faces:
- Northvolt, given $270 million by Quebec, went bankrupt.
- Stellantis, handed billions, slashed jobs and shut down its Windsor plant.
- Ford, after pocketing $295 million, abandoned its Oakville EV plant plans.
How many more failed handouts will it take before governments wake up.
Just this past August, the Liberals announced another $25 million for EV chargers.
More spending. More waste. More ideology over reality.
It’s time to slam the brakes on EV subsidies.
Canadians need affordable energy – not more reckless spending.
If you’re fed up with governments shovelling your money into failed EV schemes, sign our petition today.
When we hit 10,000 signatures, we’ll deliver this message straight to the premiers – and to Prime Minister Carney.
Let’s send a message they can’t ignore: STOP the EV handouts.
