Unite the Country – Support Conservative Motion to Exempt All Home Heating from the Carbon Tax
Ottawa – Members of Parliament are expected to vote in the House today on a motion put forward by the Conservatives to extend the home heating exemption to all fuel sources, not just oil.
CAE President Dan McTeague notes that, “Trudeau is playing politics with people’s livelihoods. To grant a carbon tax exemption to home heating oil and not to other fuel sources is fundamentally unjust. Canadians across the country are struggling to make ends meet, not just in ridings that Trudeau is pandering to.”
McTeague urges Members of Parliament on both sides of the floor to vote in favor of exempting the tax for all home heating sources. “Ultimately, we need to scrap the useless Carbon Tax altogether, but this would at least be a small step toward some financial relief for all Canadians, especially as we enter the cold winter months.”
